Discussions concerning community security and community-based DDR in fragile contexts

This report highlights the discussions and conclusions that came forward during a number of expert meetings in The Hague and New York on community security and community-based disarmament, demobilization and reintegration (DDR) in fragile contexts, in December 2011. These meetings have been organized by the ‘Peace, Security and Development Network’
(PSDN: www.psdnetwork.nl) working group on ‘Community security and community-based DDR’. This knowledge network originated in 2008 and aims to link relevant actors; policy makers, NGOs, knowledge institutes, private sector - working in the
field of peace, security and development.

Peace Security and Development Network 2012

This publication is an outcome of the in 2008 established ‘Network for Peace, Security and Development’. The Network aims to support and encourage the sharing of expertise and cooperation between the different Dutch sectors and organisations involved in fragile states. The PSD Network is an initiative under the Schokland Agreements in 2007.
