Conference Report Service Provision and the Legitimacy of State Institutions in Situations of Conflict and Fragility
This conference report highlights the core discussions and conclusions of the Service Provision and the Legitimacy of State Institutions in Situations of Conflict and Fragility held on 7 December 2011 and hosted by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The conference was organized by the „Multi-Stakeholder Processes, Service Delivery and State Institutions‟ working group of the Peace, Security and Development Network (www.psdnetwork.nl).
It sought to present and discuss the working group‟s draft synthesis report – based on 12 case-studies in 4 countries – and the related theoretical and practical discussions. More than 75 participants from over 10 different countries took part in the conference, ranging from policy-makers to academics and practitioners.
Peace Security and Development Network 2012
This publication is an outcome of the in 2008 established ‘Network for Peace, Security and Development’. The Network aims to support and encourage the sharing of expertise and cooperation between the different Dutch sectors and organisations involved in fragile states. The PSD Network is an initiative under the Schokland Agreements in 2007.
