Cafe Humanitaire: A Standard for Humanitarian Action

Networking Reception - The second draft of the Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and Accountability has been launched: a standard that outlines what good humanitarian action looks like for communities and people affected by crisis and the staff and organisations involved in responding to this. How is the development of this standard going? And how is this applicable during emergency situations, when life’s are at risk. Executive director of Humanitarian Accountibility Partnership, Marian Casey-Maslen, has the floor.

About Humanitarian Accountibility Partnership (HAP)
HAP is a network of humanitarian organizations dedicated to ensuring greater accountability to people affected by crises through the promotion and verification of a Standard on Quality and Accountability.

About the speaker

Marian Casey-Maslen has over 20 year of experience in humanitarian response and development work. From 1993 to 2007, Marian lived in Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Kenya working in various positions. Prior to joining HAP in 2012, she worked with the ACT Alliance in Geneva on policy issues including: accountability, climate change, disaster risk reduction and gender equality.
