This workshop will present the results of a comparative study of wellbeing in urban areas for refugees and host communities in Lebanon and Jordan. The study was conducted by the Institute of Development Studies affiliated to the University of Sussex in cooperation with IMPACT Initiatives, with funding from the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) and support from ACTED Lebanon.

In particular, the study looks at different modalities of reception of displaced populations, notably related to shelter, access to legal documentation, and access to livelihoods and how these modalities affected wellbeing.

The workshop aims to engage practitioners and researchers on the ground in operational discussions on their professional experiences and recommendations. The workshop will include a panel discussion from practitioners including, Suheir Ghali, PhD from the Ministry of Social Affairs, Tala Kammourieh, Housing Policy Analyst for UNHABITAT, and Risha Jagarnathsingh, Migration Researcher for Lebanon Support.
