Political parties are increasingly seen as important players in peaceful and sustainable development of fragile and conflict affected settings. Why is this focus on political parties necessary? How can donors, policymakers and practitioners engage political parties in these settings to enhance peacebuilding and democracy support?

This public expert meeting aims to identify strategies to effectively work with political actors in fragile settings on policymaking and donor frameworks. The backdrop to the discussion will be keynote speeches from academics and members of the donor community, as well as insights from practitioners in NIMD’s network working in these settings. The public meeting will continue the next day with a closed-door thematic caroussel.

The program for the day can be found here.
