Dr Lina Khatib is director of the Carnegie Middle East Center in Beirut, and an expert on the Middle East, Islamist groups and political transitions. She is co-founder of the Program on Arab Reform and Democracy at Stanford University.

Mr Mehdi Khalaji is an Iranian-American writer, scholar of Islamic studies and political analyst. He has been researching at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy since 2005, and is now a senior research fellow focusing on the politics of Iran and Shiite groups in the Middle East.

Dr Khatib and Mr Khalaji will open the meeting by sharing their thoughts, after which the floor will be opened for Q&A and discussion. This event is open for all who are interested in the future of Iraq and the Middle East.

Please register by sending an email to: info@kpsrl.org. We kindly ask you to refer to ‘brown bag lunch 3 June’ in the subject line. Registration is on the basis of first come first serve.
