On 30 May 2013 the High Level Panel on the Post-2015 Development Agenda released ‘’A New Global Partnership: Eradicate Poverty and Transform Economies through Sustainable Development’’. This report sets out an universal development agenda in order to meet with the eight Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s). The MDG's have been a milestone in international development efforts. While three of the eight goals have been met prior to the deadline of 2015, the situation in fragile and conflict-affected states are at risk of lagging behind the rest. Without peace, security and justice based on the rule of law, prospects for an improved future will remain a dream for many people. Therefore, the Netherlands would like to see security and rule of law included in the post-2015 development goals.

Consultation meeting: Post-2015 and the role of security and rule of law

For this consultation meeting acknowledged experts are invited to share insights and expertise regarding the post-2015 development agenda, and explore the role of Security and Rule of Law. Whereas the first consultation meeting on 2 May 2013 was designed as an introductory meeting, this consultation meeting will be more in-depth with opportunities for the experts to share their organization’s  vision on the post-2015 development agenda.
