The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNICEF are hosting a symposium on the theme of peacebuilding and education. The Netherlands funds UNICEF’s Peacebuilding, Education and Advocacy (PBEA) programme in 14 (post)conflict and/or fragile states. The programme aims to transform societies by addressing the root causes of conflict and strengthening resilience, social cohesion and human security, through innovative education programmes. As security and rule of law is a priority theme for the Dutch government, this symposium asks, what contribution can education make?
