Participatory Validation Event for the Community Security Research in Afghanistan & South Sudan

Organized by:Cordaid and the Conflict Research Unit at Clingendael

Cordaid and the Conflict Research Unit (CRU) of Clingendael are collaborating with the Knowledge Platform Security & Rule of Law to organize an invitation-only participatory event to validate the first outcomes of their joint research “Improving Community Security program design: Better evidence, stronger engagement and deeper learning”.

The research program aims to increase security as perceived and experienced by local communities in fragile and conflict-affected environments. The one-year program has started in January and includes desk research and field research in Afghanistan and South Sudan. This joint effort aspires to further increase the evidence base of community security work, to enhance knowledge development and, above all, help local communities to improve their own security situation.

The event has the following goals:

1. provide critical input based on practical experiences for the research program;

2. share knowledge and experiences between different actors active in the field of community security;

3. through a report and the development of a practical guide for gathering evidence, these findings and experiences will be shared with the wider network of the Platform and a broader development audience.

In order to ensure familiarity with the topic and a high level of discussion, this event is invitation-only. Should you wish to participate, please send an email to: info@kpsrl.org.
